How It Works

Free 1.8 PvP in your browser. The weekly top 5 are paid in SOL.
Getting Started
Make an account. Pick a username and a password, and paste the Solana wallet address you want rewards sent to. You never connect a wallet or sign anything, and you can change the address any time in Account, Change Wallet.
Or play as a guest. Guests can play unranked matches, bot practice and the offline warm-up, and watch live matches. Ranked play needs an account.
It all runs in your browser. No download and no launcher. The site works like the game's menus: Esc goes back a screen, and Options holds the same settings as the in-game pause menu.
Finding a Match
Ranked queue. The only way to play ranked. Pick Classic and NoDebuff and you are paired with the closest Elo that is waiting: within 75 of yours at first, 25 wider every 5 seconds, and anyone after 2 minutes.
Leaving early. Leaving a ranked match before the fight starts (loading or countdown) locks the ranked queue for 1 minute, then 5, 15 and 30 minutes for each further early exit within an hour. Your opponent goes straight back to searching and keeps their place.
The match board. Post a match with a mode, listed publicly or invite code only. The first player to join plays you, guests included. Posted matches never count for the leaderboard.
Invites and challenges. An invite code match has a link to send (the invite code after /play/). On another player's profile, Challenge... sends them an invite, and if they are on the site they get an Accept or Decline prompt right away. Challenges never count.
Direct Connect. Joins a private match by its invite code, or watches a live match by its match code.
Rematch. After a match, both players press Rematch within a minute to play again in the same mode on a new arena. Rematches never count, even after a ranked match.
Practice. Bot Practice fights a bot on the real server, and Offline Warm-up runs the whole game in your browser. Neither counts for anything.
Match found alert. Waiting in another tab? A chime, a flashing tab and a notification tell you when your match starts. Turn it off in Options, Music & Sounds.
Modes and Arenas
Classic. The standard duel. Sword, rod and bow in full iron. Spacing, rod combos and a few well-timed arrows decide it. Sword damage: 7.0, Armor points: 15, Hunger: Off, time limit 10:00.
NoDebuff. Full diamond with a hotbar of healing and a Fire Aspect sword. Pot management, pearls on a 15 second cooldown and refills under pressure win the fight. You cannot see your opponent's health. Sword damage: 10.5, Armor points: 20, Heal per pot: 8 HP, time limit 15:00.
Sumo (casual). No items, no damage. Knock your opponent off the ring before they knock you off. Just for fun, never ranked. Damage: None, Win: Knock them off, time limit 3:00.
Out of time. A match still going when time runs out is a draw.
1.8 combat. Damage, armor, potions, knockback, hit timing, sprint resets, rod combos and critical hits follow 1.8 values, so what you practiced still works.
Arenas. Every match picks one at random. Duels: Highlands, Colosseum, Frozen Peaks, Cherry Temple. Sumo: Sky Island, Sakura Pond, Frost Spire, Mesa Top. Every arena has a flat fighting floor and mirrored spawns, so none gives either side an edge.
Kit layouts. Rearrange each mode's kit in Options, Kit Layouts. It moves items, never adds any, and is saved to your account for every match.
Controls
W A S D: move
Space: jump
Left Ctrl: sprint
Left Shift: sneak
Left click: attack
Right click: use the held item (potions, rod, bow, pearls, food)
1 to 9 or the scroll wheel: hotbar slot
E: inventory
F5: camera view
Tab: player list
V: push to talk
Esc: pause menu, with Options and Forfeit Duel
Rebind anything. Every action binds to any key or mouse button in Options, Controls. Conflicts show in red.
HUD. HUD Settings has its own scale, plus keystrokes with CPS, a CPS counter, pot and pearl counters and armor status.
Ranked and Elo
Elo. Matches from the ranked queue move your Elo for that mode. Everyone starts each week at 1000, and beating an equal player gains 16. Your Elo shows in gold on name tags, on the scoreboard and on the results screen.
Weeks. A week runs Monday 00:00 UTC to the next Monday, and a match counts in the week it ends. Each ranked mode has its own leaderboard.
What counts:
- You need 5 ranked matches in a mode that week to take a place.
- Only your first 3 games against the same opponent each week count, so you need more than one opponent.
- Matches between linked accounts never count.
- Matches that look arranged, such as win trading or feeding, do not count.
- New accounts take a paid place once they are 7 days old at the week's end, or have played an earlier week.
Told every time. When a match does not count, the results screen says why.
Weekly Rewards
Top of the week. When a week ends, the top 5 of Classic and NoDebuff are saved. Sumo is just for fun and has no leaderboard.
Reviewed before paying. An admin reviews every place before it is paid, including the player's replays from that week.
Paid in SOL. Rewards are sent in SOL to the wallet on your account as a normal transfer. There is nothing to claim and nothing to sign.
Funded by trading fees. Every DUEL trade pays a small fee, and those fees fund the weekly rewards.
Public record. Every payment is listed on the Payouts page with its transaction, so anyone can check it was sent. The leaderboard's Past Winners shows each week's top players.
Forfeiting a reward. Cheating, win trading, feeding wins or playing yourself on a second account forfeits the reward and the account.
The Token
DUEL is the Blockchain token on Solana. A fee on every DUEL trade funds the weekly rewards, which are paid in SOL.
Contract address (CA): Coming soon
Only trust the official address. It will be posted here and on the title screen at launch. Blockchain never asks you to connect a wallet, approve a transaction or send anything.
News. Announcements, including launch news and the token address, go out first on X.
Fair Play
Anti-cheat. Every match runs on our server, and our anti-cheat covers every ranked match. We do not publish what it checks.
Reviewed before paying. Every ranked match is recorded, and the top players' matches are watched before anyone is paid.
Reporting. After a recorded match, Report... sends your opponent to the admins with the replay as evidence.
Spectating and Replays
Spectating. Public matches show under Live Matches on the Play screen, and up to 25 people can watch each. Fly with W A S D, Space and Shift, press 1 or 2 to follow a player, and F5 to change the view.
Match codes. Every match has an 8 character code. Opening /play/ with the code watches it live, and Copy Watch Link in the game menu copies it.
Results. After a match, its result page shows the winner, stats and Elo changes, with a link preview for Discord and other apps.
Replays. Ranked matches have Watch Replay on the results screen, the result page and your profile. The recording plays back in your browser with pause, skips, a timeline and 0.5x to 4x speed.
Profiles. Show this week's Elo, your all time record, rewards and match history. Payout wallets are never shown.
Voice Chat, Skins and Packs
Voice chat. Turn it on in Options, Voice Chat, with push to talk (V) or always on. It connects when both players have it on. Audio goes through our relay, so your opponent never sees your IP address, and you can mute them from the pause menu.
Skins. Upload a 64x64 skin with wide or slim arms in Account, Skin. Options, Video Settings, Player Skins can show everyone with the default skin instead.
Resource packs. Load any resource pack .zip in Options, Resource Packs for textures, the font and sounds. It is read in your browser, never uploaded, and only you see it. Get Default Textures downloads the default pack.
Questions
Do I need a copy of Minecraft? No. Blockchain is an independent browser game that recreates 1.8 era PvP. It is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft, and it ships none of their files.
Why paste a wallet instead of connecting it? You only need to receive tokens, and anyone can send to an address. Pasting it means the site can never ask your wallet to approve anything.
What does it cost? Nothing. Playing is free, and rewards arrive in your wallet without any action from you.
Can I have more than one account? No. Second accounts are detected, their matches never count, and using one to farm wins forfeits the rewards of both accounts.
I forgot my password. Ask an admin. They can set a temporary password for your account, which you then change in Account, Change Password.
My match did not count. Why? The results screen says so when a ranked match does not count. Guest and bot matches never count.
Blockchain is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. Rewards are promotional, depend on review, and may change or end at any time.
